The Garden puppies are a litter of 9 week old Basenji mixes who are blooming with love for their forever homes! This litter was born in our rescue to Mama Poppy who was a petite Basenji mix. We suspect Mama got into the garden beds with several dads, as the puppies all have very unique, but still adorable looks! The puppies currently weigh between 7-11 pounds, so we expect they will be in the medium weight range when they are fully grown. The litter is 4 girls and 3 boys. We will be seeking individual homes for each puppy as we do not place siblings together. Looking for a pop of floral accent in your home? Bring home a bloom today!
Aster (M): Aster is a playful and intelligent puppy who would love a home ready for love! Of his siblings, Aster is the most observant and has picked up many tricks from his older foster bro. He is very adaptable and can go from snuggling on the couch to zooming around the yard in a heartbeat. Basically, whatever you want to do during the day, Aster is waiting with a smile by the door. Aster has a tail that never stops wagging and a body full of love. Aster knows that his life will bloom with love and treats and he can't wait to meet you!
Azalea (F): Azalea is a funny and playful puppy who has so much charisma it's hard to believe it's contained in a little body! This girl is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly, and she will bring endless hours of love and excitement to her forever home. She is so fluffy which makes her easy to pet for an afternoon, but she's also just as happy to strap on her adventure pack and hit the trails with you. Azalea is absolutely fabulous and has already shown us so much emotional intelligence as she navigates life with her bustling siblings. What more could you want from a puppy!
Blue (M): Blue is a happy go lucky puppy who wakes up every morning ready to make the day even better than the last! He is happy to play with his siblings but is also content sitting back and taking in his surroundings. While he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, his emotional intelligence is amazing and he will impress you with his boundless loyalty and love. Blue loves placing his head gently on the lap of his foster parents as they give him scratches and kisses. Truly, Blue is a fan and rescue favorite (but don't tell his sibs that). Blue will bring cloudless skies to your life, so bring him home today!
Cosmos (M): Cosmos is an energetic and fun-loving gentleman who adores his fellow canines! He loves to run around with the resident older dog in his foster home and was the first puppy to venture out from the watchful eye of Mama Poppy. He is full of energy and fun and will be an amazing companion for any adventure. Hikes? He's down! Beach trip? He's bringing the picnic basket. Whatever you have planned for the summer, Cosmos wants to be in on all the action. Cosmos promises that he will bring the action and affection to the household lucky enough to bring him home!
Indigo (F): Indigo may be little but she leads the pack in their daily romps around the yard! She loves her toys and shows off her fabulous zoomies with her foster siblings. Indie is more independent than some of her siblings and is content to play solo with a toy when her siblings are playing a little rough for her. Don't get us wrong though, this gal loves to cuddle and will spend hours curled up in your lap as you dote on her. Indie is also very smart and has already started to pick up on potty training. Indie promises to bring color to your life if you bring her home!
Lotus (F): Lotus is the snugglebug of the litter and is frequently found curled up on a blanket or in the sunshine as her siblings play around her. Don't get us wrong, she will happily chase her toys and siblings around the yard for hours at a time though! Puppy zoomies are the cutest, we know! Her party trick is having an eagle eye for an open lap and zooming over to plop herself down as she rolls over for cuddles and kisses. Lotus learned how to bat her puppy dog eyes for treats and love and has never looked back since! A life with Lotus will be a life full of love, we promise!
Venus (F): Venus is Miss Explorer! She figured out how to escape the pen (by climbing on her siblings) and made the world her own. She amazes everyone with her silly antics and makes the world better with her presence. Venus is the Einstein of her siblings and keeps the bunch in line as she lays out the daily agenda (play, sleep, eat, repeat). Venus has gorgeous markings and an even sunnier personality. She is just a remarkable puppy who has so much to offer the world. We know she will make life amazing for whoever brings this gal home!
The puppies sleep through the night in their pen before they wake up when their family starts the day. They get breakfast and then are herded outside for some playtime as the sun comes out. During the day, they alternate between playing in the yard, zooming around the house, chewing on toys, and snoozing in a pile. They eat lunch at 1 PM and have dinner at 6 PM. They each get some one-on-one cuddle time in the evening after their foster family starts to wrap up their days. After one last trip outside, they go back into their pen for bed. Hard work being a puppy!
The Garden puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They would be a fabulous addition to a home with a resident dog but could also thrive solo. They have been introduced to people of all ages and love getting cuddles from their adoring fans. We will be looking for adoptive homes prepared to continue their base of training and socialization to ensure they are well-rounded adults. If you are ready for a life of adventure, bring home a Garden pup today!
The Garden puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog previously, even if that experience is less recent. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.
