My Story

1/10/09 - Yes Gabby is 7. She was born 12/01, spayed, UTD on shots...a real doll. There is a female irish at the animal hospital she is apparently an owner turn in at the shelter. Here's what I know about her, she is 7yrs & spayed(yea!) and tomorrow would have been her last day at the shelter, be a needy irish lady here in Abingdon, Va. She would like a fenced yard. Her owners turned her into the shelter because of divorce, she is very pretty and sweet, a little (very little) gray around the eyes( not very heavy coated. She looks very well bred, gorgeous head on her and about 55-60#. An application, vet reference, home visit and a drive to NJ a must to meet our dogs! Adoption fee required. To find out more about the Irish Setter breed, click here. To adopt, please submit an Adoption Application.

Every dog in rescue is placed spayed/neutered and current on their shots. They are screened for temperment and we do our best to place the right dog in the right home. We require all rescue dogs be house dogs. Irish Setters do not do well being outside only dogs. If the dog does not work out, it must be returned to Irish Setter Rescue. Adoption fees range for an older dog, could be as low as $200 to as much as $350 for a younger dog. Our average adoption fees are $350 for up to age 1 year, $300 from 1 - 3 years, $250 age 4 - 6 years and $200 for age 7 - 9. Any age 10 or older we are just so happy that someone is able to provide them a forever loving home. We try to get our vet bills covered with the adoption fees.
