My Story

ADOPTED! - This fellow is as sweet as sugar! He arrived from the shelter severely underweight and he has been in foster care for several months, during which time we resolved a few treatable medical issues. Fortunately, Frosty has now received a totally clean bill of health and he is ready to live happily ever after with his new owner. Everyone who has met Frosty has fallen in love with him, as he is an extremely kind-hearted, gentle soul. But, like most Setters--he has a great sense of humor, he's silly, and he's full of energy! Frosty weighs about 55 lbs. and our guess is that he is a young adult--possibly about three years old. Because he's such a social fellow, we don't want Frosty to be a latchkey dog, so an adopter who works part time or works out of his/her home would be perfect for him. Frosty really enjoys the great outdoors, and he would love to spend his days watching the birds and the squirrels in a large, safely fenced yard (please, no invisible fencing). In the evening though, he loves to snuggle with his foster mom's teen-age kids, watching TV while lying on his soft little "blankie". Frosty is an athletic, goofy, energetic guy who learns quickly and he has incredible stamina. He would make a perfect running/jogging partner for someone who works out every day. We would prefer an adopter with previous experience with Setters, as this breed is a unique combination of brains, energy, and....mischief! Frosty has been microchipped, wormed, neutered, immunized, and he is heartworm negative so he is ready to move on to his new home. His adoption fee is $250. If you are interested in Frosty, please send us an e-mail describing your lifestyle and your living situation so that we can determine if he would be a good fit for you. After that, we can send you an adoption application to fill out. You may e-mail Marti at: [email protected]

Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
