My Story

Frida is a beautiful, 11-year old, sweet senior who lived outside all her life prior to coming into rescue. Frida prefers to be the only animal, be it cat or dog, so she does not have to compete with them. Being the only animal in the home will avoid conflict situations. Frida seems to do better with women than with men. Frida wants to be close to her human. Its a sweetness that seems to be connected to her manner of seeking guidance as she finds her way. Even though blind, she gets around very well once learning her surroundings and will come quickly when called to find you so she can walk right by your side confidently going where you are headed. She is very aware of her persons movement and will follow along like a dog who has been trained to heel. It is interesting to see and can be compared to a human with a guide dog, but here we have a dog with a guiding human. Fridas hearing is excellent! She can follow rules and wants to please. She loves wandering happily around the fenced yard. At 11 years old, Frida now enjoys the comforts of an indoor home and has learned new manners for inside the house. Being with you and getting belly rubs are favorite pastimes, she also enjoys chewing on her toys and bones. Frida will do best in an adult only home where people are home a lot, and she is the ONLY animal. Her separation anxiety is mild and she can be left alone safely in her crate while people are gone for a few hours. It is important for Frida to have a securely fenced yard.
