My Story

Birth Date: Sepember 1, 2008

Pedigree: Flying Penske--Solitary Elusion)
Free is a very nice young greyhound girl, not yet two years old. She is also a small greyhound, around 55 lbs. She will be 58 lbs. or so at a good pet weight. Free has a very nice temperment and is gentle and easy going, but somewhat timid right now. She loves to eat and is the first one in the kitchen at feeding time. She is already showing signs of wanting to fit in and wanting attention, but doesn't quite know what to do yet. She follows the other dogs around the house, but is not sure yet that she is doing the right thing. We have only had Free for a few days, and are working with her so she will gain confidence in her new surroundings. Although she was trained for racing, Free was not fast enough to qualify for the track, so she has never actually raced. She already walks pretty well on a leash and is learning about car riding in her trips to the local dog park several times a week.
Free is the twin sister of FiFi, who is also available for adoption. FiFi wasn't fast enough to race either, and is also a small greyhound girl. Both of these girls are littermates of Start Evander (Evan), who has already been adopted through our organization. We just recently picked Free up from her kennel, where she had an indoor-outdoor run, so her hair coat is a little sunburned. Both Free and her sister, FiFi are very young, so you need to be aware that they might taste and chew things in the house. TV remotes, cell phones, and other objects that have your scent on them are prime targets and need to be kept out of their reach--likewise with important papers. Free has only been with us a very short while, so we will have more information on how she is adjusting to life in a house after we have had her for a few more days. Please check back for updates.
Free's $250 adoption fee includes her spay, teeth cleaning, all vaccines, 3-yr. rabies vaccine, Bordatella (to protect against kennel cough), microchip, leash and collar, adoption guide, grooming mitt, stuffie toy, and an Adopt-A-Greyhound tote bag.
