He's been with us for a while and we can't understand why he hasn't found his forever home. This boy is a sweet, easy going fellow that received rave reviews from his previous foster. Read their notes below; Dr. Shepard also known as Doc or Shep is a low key / low maintenance man. We walk/ feed him in the morning and at night. He lives with us in the city and is perfect for the environment but would do well anywhere. He does not bark, is house trained, walks off leash, and is super people friendly. A gentle giant if you will. He isn't a fan of playing with other dogs and should be the only dog in the household. However there are MANY dogs in the neighborhood and he's fine walking by them. If you are looking for a chill and loving companion this dog is exactly what the DOCTOR ORDERED! Dr. Fred is ready for his forever home. As with many dogs that have been in shelters for long periods of time, his wonderful personality may take a while to emerge, but once it does he's a lover and a leaner. If you are looking for a dog with all the incredible qualities of a Shepherd - loyalty, companionship and intelligence. then Dr. Fred is your boy. Shepherds may have a high prey drive, so Dr. Fred is probably best suited for a home without cats or small dogs. Please come and visit him, he's available for foster or adoption.
