My Story
‘JAMES GANG’ THEMED DEAF PUPPY: Approx. 7 – 8 months old / Approx. 20 lbs. & growing
Hi, my name’s Frank - one of the adorable James Gang puppies! My brother (who has been adopted) and I found ourselves at animal control, and Mostly Mutts knew that was not where puppies should start their best life, so they rescued us! We have discovered that I’m a deaf puppy, so I am learning to use a vibration collar along with hand signals. No worries – being deaf doesn’t affect my energetic and happy disposition! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot! Now I’m in a foster home waiting for my family to find me!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I got along quite well with the two dogs that were in my foster home and I met dogs in the prison/foster training program that I liked. We all think that I need a friendly dog in my new home that is around my size who can be a leader and help me with some separation issues I’ve been experiencing. So, if you have a nice doggie like this, that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met my foster’s 5-year-old granddaughter, and I was sweet with her but in true puppy fashion, I was so excited to meet her. If you have kids at home that will understand I cannot hear, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My foster described me as a very friendly and energetic puppy. I am curious and have the typical puppy curiosity about everything going on around me. I am a sweet and loving pup who seeks out affection from my people. / My energy level is 6 - 8, typical for an active puppy my age – though I am an expert napper when it is time to recharge my batteries.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. In the prison/foster training program, I worked with my trainer to learn commands using a vibration collar and hand signals as an alternative to verbal communication. I need a family that will keep me safe since I cannot hear. My trainer would be happy to tell you more about this and show you all the hand signals I know and use of the vibration collar. / I am experiencing some separation issues when left alone, so right now, I cry loudly while in my crate, so best no apartment/condo living, please, however I do not have this challenge when there is another dog in my home. / My potty habits are good, although I sometimes have accidents when left alone. It seems this is a symptom of some separation issues that I am experiencing. Please keep me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: Being a typical pup, I explore everything with my mouth, so make sure to puppy proof our home. When not playing with you or toys, I love to cuddle with my people. I’m sure we will discover lots of things we like doing together as I grow up. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I’m current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am completely deaf; however, this does not slow me down from being a sweet and exuberant puppy!
If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
