Visit me, Jordan, Boss of EveryPuppy of the Universe, at FUFFYBUTTS RESCUE RESORT to read my 'New Yorkie Times' articles. Fill out the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you're interested in being adopted by this cute kid.
JUN 22-08: Frack and his buddy, Frick, have been adopted! These are two very special, special needs boys and they are going to live with our little Toly in her home. Toly will never forgive me for sending two twits to live with her but her nickname is 'The Whip' so I don't think she'll have a problem keeping these two old farts in line.
Thank you, Kimberly and Ken and Toly and Bear, for taking in these two boys and giving them a fantastic life!!
JUN 19-08: We decided not to do another blood test on Mo (also lovingly referred to as Little Bear) today because he's been on prednisone. He's had to go back on the prednisone, along with some cimetidine for his upset tummy, because he got very lethargic and wasn't eating. We discovered prior to today that his upper jaw, right in the front and going up into his nose, is deteriorating. That means that he has no sense of smell. We've also discovered that either he has VERY selective hearing or he's totally deaf. Little Bear couldn't hear a bomb go off under his fluffy butt but that doesn't mean that he isn't one of the most loveable little guys you'd ever want to meet.
We're going to try to do another blood test to check his liver function after he's been on a low dose of prednisone for two full weeks, which will be in about 3-4 weeks. Stay tuned and send him prayers.
JUN 2-08: Little Frack, also known as Mo, is with Frick, also known as Eskie, at Grandma Jackie's and Grandpa Don's house. He wasn't eating very well and I was getting worried. He's eating pretty well for Grandma and Grandpa but every once in a while he doesn't feel like eating. Today he's been acting a bit sluggish so they'll keep a close eye on him and will get him to the dogtor if they think he needs to go. Mostly, though, he's doing well, following his buddy, Frick/Eskie around outside. Both boys are getting a lot of exercise, fresh air, love and attention and both are doing very well on the whole. He loves to cuddle and is just an amazing little fella.
MAY 19-08: Frack is at the hospital tonight. As you can see, he's got an incredibly large tumor on one of 'the boys.' He had a hard time walking with that thing down there but we're hoping he'll bounce back quickly. His blood test shows that his liver enzymes are a bit elevated but we hope we can get that under control. We also hope that the dogtor has removed all those raging ho-moans that make him very unpawpular with the girls at Hotel Jordan.
Frack was born on August 10, 1995. He's been around the block a few times....okay, he's been around the block a LOT of times but that just means he's....well, it just means he's kinda-sorta old but he's sweet and happy and cute as can be. He only weighs about 3.5 pounds so he's just a dinky little guy. He'll tell you that he may be small and that size DOES matter where it counts. He tells me he was quite the ladies man but those days are over.
HUG AND KISS YOUR KIDLETS LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW.
Please be patient with us - we're taking care of a lot of kids - our own and the foster kids - and we have families, homes and full time jobs. We're giving meds to the sick kids, playing with the healthy kids, and loving on all the kids. We're doing their laundry, trying to teach them manners and where to do their business, and cleaning up their accidents. In other words, we're just a little busy but we'll return email inquiries just as fast as we pawssibly can. Thanks!
ADOPTIONS: We don't let the fact that you might live out of state stop any adoption that's meant to be, but you MUST be willing to drive, or fly, all the way to pick up your new family member. We do not ship these kids on airplanes by themselves - we think they'd have a hard time getting through security without their rabies tag setting off the metal detectors. If the kid needs a health certificate because they're flying home, that will be an expense for the new family.
ADOPTION DONATIONS: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount doesn't even come close to covering that kid's dogtor bills. This is definitely not a money-making venture. We're usually so far in the hole but the impawtant thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the pawfect family. That's our top pawority. (I just can't resist using 'paw' whenever I can!)
POTTY TRAINING: Please note that we NEVER say our kids are 100% potty-trained. How stupid would we be to say something like that? If you're willing to be trained by your new family member, please fill out an application. If you're looking for a totally potty-trained kid, you may as well stop at the toy store on your way home from work and buy a stuffed toy because those are the only reliable ones to NOT potty in your home. There is a period of adjustment, not just for the new family member but for everyone in the house. You must be patient, understanding, and willing to work with your new family member. It can take anywhere from several days to several months. You must be 100% committed to this, it's a lifetime commitment.
Hug and kiss your kids like there's no tomorrow.
