My Story
To quote her foster Mom, this gal is "just a little nugget and a very cool dog!" Meet Foxy. This 35-pound, 1 and ½-year-old beauty is energetic, lovable, snuggly, and playful. She came to us as an owner surrender as "too many dogs" existed in her previous home. She is now in a home with two other Huskies, but she came from a home with four other dogs, so she is very dog friendly. She is also cat friendly. She gets along great with her foster dog friends and loves playing with them. She will wait to be asked to engage in play and is not pushy or demanding. She loves a game of fetch and has yet to meet a squeaky toy she doesn't like. She is very happy romping around the yard, chilling on the couch, and getting belly rubs. She can be timid when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. She has shown some signs that perhaps someone was not very kind and probably rough with her previously. She may pee a little if she's startled, and she does not like her collar handled and will recoil if you come in too roughly or quickly. She also will curl up and tinkle a little if you stand over her to pick her up or move her. She will require a very gentle hand to get over this. Also, an issue with her collar is she does not seem to have been leashed trained, and she'll need work on this, but it will be a slower process to build trust in handling her collar, and a harness may help walk/leash training. Foxy came from a home with children, so she is kid-friendly and should be good with even small children, given her size. Foxy's foster Mom would love to see her…. go to a family that is willing to work with her as she builds her confidence. She would do well in a home with another dog or as an only dog - I don't think it matters. She wants to be by people and be loved, so hopefully, she finds a household where she is not alone all day, all the time. If someone is interested in a Husky but wishes they were smaller- she'd be a great fit! Foxy is one special little girl, and we see a very bright future for her with a patient, loving person or family that will give her a healthy, happy, safe environment in which to thrive and receive all the love she craves!
