Forest

Meet Forest! When Forest originally came into the shelter he was covered in porcupine quills. It was reported that River and Forest had been surviving on their own for a bit. Forest is recovering well from the porcupine encounter and adjusting to life in the shelter. Forest has clearly not had the easiest life recently. Not only was he covered in quills but he was also extremely emaciated. Staff have been working on helping Forest gain weight back slowly. Forest is the more shy and reserved of the two. He is initially nervous with new people, but is so sweet once he trusts you. He loves scratches and resting his head in your lap. The key to his heart is food and he is very easily motivated. Forest will need some time and patience while adjusting into a home. He's looking for someone who can be understanding of what he's been through and give him the opportunity to really come out of his shell. We think Forest would get along best with a quiet, calm pup. Children might be a bit overwhelming for him. Forest does seem to be housetrained and likes to keep his kennel tidy.
