If Flora could talk, we imagine she has many stories she could tell! Flora arrived at FAS ready to pop and gave birth to a giant litter of puppies within hours of her arrival. She was such a good mom to them, attentive and doting, and a discerning about who she felt safe with helping her care for them. Now that her puppies are grown and moving onto the next chapter in their lives with their own families, we're getting to know Flora for who she is herself and not in her role as momma. When Flora learns to trust, she goes all in, and you've a friend for life. For that trust to develop she needs patience, space, and an understanding of consent. She'll let you know when she's ready. A little bit of cheese doesn't hurt either. Truly, she's a cheddar hound! Flora's shown some insecure interest in other dogs and we anticipate once out of this hormonally challenging stage of her life her abilities in this arena will only improve. She is seeking an adult only home at this time. We hope for Flora that her next family brings the opportunity to rest, genuinely and deeply, and build new friendships where she can feel safe, supported, and stable in a new home and new routine.
