Floki

Floki is a 7-month-old male purebred, DNA tested. He is not a Rottie or a Rottie mix! Please Google the breed and do your due research before applying. Floki is a young male adolescent Catahoula. He is very smart, and loyal, but also stubborn and thinks he's smarter than me. He test his boundaries once in awhile to see how far he can get away with something. He is super smart and very treat motivated. He has excellent off lead recall. He does have a large assortment of chew toys and seems to stick to them nicely. He is not an excessive barker. He does alarm bark when visitors arrive. He is excellent with other dogs of all sizes. He has been raised from 5 weeks of age, when he came in to Rescue with his mom and littermates, on a small family farm. He is used to being around horses, cows, goats, and free range farm fowl of every species. That said, he CANNOT be trusted around the fowl unsupervised. This is a lack of impulse control that most puppies his age go through. He may grow out of it, most do. He may not. Best to keep him well supervised if you have fowl. He also is good with cats most days, but does like to chase them if they'll run. My old cats hate him, and my young ones play with him. He is crate trained, but currently (since it's gotten nice out) prefers to sleep outside on the back deck with our LGD (Great Pyrenees mix dog) He seems to take her job of night time patrol for predators to heart and does a very good job at it with her. He adores children, but is very exuberant with them and jumps up and sometimes knocks them down. He rarely jumps up on adults. He rides in the car great. He likes baths. He's terrible on a leash, hates it. Needs more work there for sure. Please ask if you have any other questions.
