This handsome gentleman is Fitz. He is about 2 years old and was surrendered by his owner who did not have time for him. When he came to us, he was so scared and confused that he sat in the corner of his kennel shaking. It truly broke our hearts. After some encouragement and a good amount of treats, he realized that he was safe, and we learned his true personality- an affectionate, funny, playful puppy!
But Fitz does need some more help with his training. Fitz tends to jump when he is excited, which he has been working on with a trainer. He also has a lot of energy and is still learning his manners. For that reason, we do not recommend a home with young children.
He absolutely loves other dogs and would do well in a home with another young, active dog. He would also do well in an active family that has time to properly exercise him. He also equally enjoys snuggling up besides his humans on the couch and watching TV.
Because he was surrendered by an owner that did not have time to train him, he will need a firm handler that is able to continue with his training.
