My Story

If you are interested in adopting these pups, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to [email protected].

Can't adopt but want to help? Please contact [email protected] to find out about sponsorship, fostering, and other ways you can help this animal! Please note that financial sponsorship will be applied to the specific animal you indicate unless it is not needed, at which time we will let you designate it for another HT animal of your choice.

You can save animals like the Fire Puppies by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering animals.

These two adorable pups are ready for adoption together. They came to us from our shelter partner in West Virginia that suffered a devestating fire. They lived only becaus they happened to be at the shelter manager's house the nite the fire broke out, killing 60 animals and destroying the puppy building. We are so grateful they are safe. They are now 8 weeks old and teeny-tiny. Both are girls. Both are super friendly, playful and love to cuddle with humans and each other. They are the best of friends and we will only place them together - they just love each other so much! We are told they are Chihuahua/Poodle mixes. The black one has a longer, soft coat like a long-hair Chihuahua. Her sister has a low-shedding, scruffy type coat. So cute.

The adoption fee for these pups together is $600, which covers the cost of routine vet care, as well as spay/neuter surgery.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to [email protected] .
