My Story

Meet Fig Are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet pup in need of a loving family? Meet Fig, the 6-month-old Catahoula dachshund mix! Weighing 45 lbs and boasting beautiful coloring, Fig is as adorable as can be. His mom, Panini, is also available for adoption if you're looking to double the love! While Fig may be a bit timid around new people and in the car, he's an absolute sweetheart who's just waiting to blossom with the right support and patience. He's particularly fond of other dogs and tends to come out of his shell when he's in their company. Fig could benefit from having a canine sibling to help boost his confidence and bravery, but it is not required. Despite his shyness, Fig is a great walker and enjoys exploring quiet trails where he can feel at ease. If you're willing to give this precious pup the time and love he needs to thrive, Fig will reward you with endless loyalty and affection. Come meet Fig and take the first step towards giving him the happy ending he deserves! Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process. *** Email [email protected] for next steps! *** • All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots. • We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting. • You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF. • We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs. • Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences. • We do request vet and personal references. • We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
