What an impressive-looking guy! He's big and happy and friendly and snorty, but he's also a lot of dog. When he is focused on doing something (or as often in his case, NOT doing something!) he can be strong and stubborn so he needs someone who can physically manage him. He is not aware of his size, which is evident when he's feeling affectionate and wants to climb on you for kisses; he doesn't understand why we're saying this silly word "ouch" when he's just trying to love us. He can be a leg lifter so will definitely need a patient home while he becomes settled and works through this habit. Neutering helped, but he hasn't worked it out of his system completely so any adopter should be aware. We are happy to report that he went to a recent off-site event and did Not life his leg a single time; however, he did guard a toy so any adopter will need to eliminate toys from the mix while they are getting to know him and earn his trust to trade up for high resource items like toys. If their kennel card on display at TAPS shelter facility is marked as unaltered, the animal will be altered prior to being released for adoption. TAPS strives to keep kennel cards as up to date as possible with current information but from time to time, information may change and a new kennel card may be pending.
