Fandango

Meet special girl Fandango! Her foster parent seems quite taken with her, so we'll let them do the talking. "She is a project. Whatever happened in her past causes her to take a long time to open up and really feel comfortable. She is wonderful though. She is my bed buddy at night, and just wants to be near a loving human as much as she can. She sits at my side while I work or makes sure she can see me in the kitchen if I am cooking. She just needs her people." Here are some insights on Fandango's personality and temperament: She walks well on a leash and is quiet in her crate, especially at meal times. Fandango is fine with other dogs but truly prefers human companionship. She cannot be trusted around small animals, especially rabbits, as she has a strong prey drive. This clever girl can be an escape artist. She doesn't jump gates directly but will use kitchen furniture to climb over them. She is also a counter jumper, so keeping her occupied with frequent outings and bones is a must. Fandango is a chewer. Anything you don't want chewed should be kept out of her reach. She absolutely loves having her belly petted. It sends her into an almost euphoric state and she falls right to sleep. She is hesitant around men but has warmed up beautifully to her foster dad and 20-year-old foster brother. Patience and time are essential with Fandango. She needs slow introductions, slow movements, and a lot of patience. Fandango is slightly food motivated but prefers pets as her reward. She isn't quite sure about toys yet. She likes antlers and ropes and sometimes a tennis ball but isn't toy motivated. Fandango is potty trained.
