My Story

HIGHLIGHTS: Needs another dog in the home Needs a fenced-in backyard Experienced and patient family Needs an adult only home #### Meet Fancy, a resilient two-year-old Lhasa Apso weighing 12 pounds. Though initially shy, Fancy actively works with our dedicated staff to build courage and improve social interactions. With these interactions every day, she dreams of a patient and loving family who will support her journey of growth. With the right loving and patient family, Fancy will undoubtedly thrive and become a beloved lifelong companion. Fancy needs a home with an experienced owner to continue to help her grow. Although still shy of people, Fancy will gladly take treats. She also loves to play and throw a toy around as she zooms around the play yard. She would benefit from a small or medium-sized confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She can be weary of big dogs at first, but she just needs a chance to get to know them. Fancy is working on her leash training and her comfort level with humans, but has already come so far! Because of this she will need a home with a secure fenced in yard of at least 4' in height. * * * * Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
