Sweet Ethel is waiting for her happily ever after. Life has not always been kind to this girl. Ethel was brought to Animal Friends by one of the animal control officers. The officer had received a call about a dog who was tied to a fence inside of an abandoned lot. A concerned person in the area had been bringing the dog food and had called the animal control officer out when no one had come for the dog after a few days. Poor Ethel was initially terrified, but was still wagging her tail, hoping for some kindness and to no longer be left alone. The officer was able to make friends with Ethel with some chicken nuggets and bring her to the shelter where staff and volunteers have been making sure this thin girl is getting snacks and love while she awaits her forever family. Ethel is a gentle soul but is still learning to trust so she can initially be aloof or unsure when meeting new people. She is happy to accept treats, but is still working on building trust and being brave enough to seek out affection. Due to her timidness with fast movements, Ethel may do best in a home without small children and with a patient family who is going to treat her with kindness and give her time to be comfortable enough to let her true personality blossom.
Ethel is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. If you have questions about an animal please have their name and ID number ready and contact shelter staff by: (1) visiting Animal Friends during our open hours, (2) calling 513-867-5727, or (3) emailing [email protected].
WE HAVE MORE PETS IN THE SHELTER THAT ARE NOT ON PETFINDER.
