My Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13698 Hi! My name is Esme and I was part of the transport that came up to OPH on 7/26/24. I'm currently being fostered in North Chesterfield, VA and Im guessed to be a Great Pyrenees mixed breed dog. I am a 7 month old girl and weigh about 45lbs. I'm a very smart girl, already learning how to walk on a leash! Click here to see me in action! Here's a few things my foster has to say about me: -I love going for walks and do great on a leash! Check out the video my foster mom took to show off my skills. I don't like to travel too far away from my person, so I'll stick close by and check in with you from time to time. -Because I'm still a puppy, I do have lots of energy to burn and sometimes try to chew on things I'm not supposed to. I listen well though, and can be easily entertained with a good chew toy so make sure to have plenty of those around for me! -My foster mom has been working on training with me, so I'll be looking for someone who is ready to continue helping me be the best girl I can be. I already know that I sleep in my crate at night, and I've been getting better with going in there during the day for my naps. -I love food (and treats!) so those will be a great tool to use with my training. I can't wait to get to my forever home! Is that with you? Apply to adopt me today! This cuteness wont be available for long! To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
