Update: Ernie has been successfully treated for heartworm disease and is ready to find his forever home. This is a GREAT dog - - - - -
3-5 year old Ernie is heartworm positive. His owners discarded him in the middle of the night, emaciated and sick. As soon as we get Ernie strong enough, he will undergo heartworm treatment, and then be available for adoption to some very lucky family. Ernie is a wonderful dog, loves everyone and everything, so don't wait to apply for him if you think he could "the one" you have been looking for. (We are also accepting donations for Ernie's medical expenses. Please go to our website if you would like to use paypal, or checks in any amount are gratefully accepted.)
