Emperor

A little Penguin waddled in to Boxers and Buddies with her litter of 1 day old pups. The reality of the shelter is heartbreaking enough without being a mama-to-be. We desperately tried to get her safe before she gave birth, but we were too late. Penguin gave birth to 10 puppies while in a cold, outdoor cage. Puppies don't make their own body heat and this situation was deadly to 4 of the puppies. We are heartbroken that we couldn't save them all, but 6 baby Penguins and mama are safe and warm. If their beginnings weren't hard enough, these babies weakened immune systems made them more susceptible to other issues. Like ringworm. They are fighters and the have defeated all of their previous obsticles and are ready for their new homes. Emperor is a cuddle bug! He loves to lay by you and get pets and snuggles. He is playful but can get a little intimidated at first but warms up quickly and joins the fun! This is a puppy. Puppies need a lot of things. They will literally need to be taught everything to become good dogs. When your puppy comes home, it will take time and patience to teach them where to potty, what to chew on, what to play with and what every single word means (believe it or not, dogs DO NOT speak English - they don't know what "sit" or "gentle" or "leave it" means) We do require professional puppy classes by a certified (CPDT) trainer. It seems like a lot, but it is all to help you and your new puppy have the best start to a long and amazing life.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
