Emily is one of the Olympic Puppies born (3/01/06) to Esther, a Cream and Black German Shepherd who was rescued Very Pregnant. Esther watched the Winter Olympics with her foster mom each evening. We thought it fitting to name each of Esther’s puppies after an American Olympic Athlete.
Emily is named after 2006 Olympic Ice Skater, Emily Hughes.
Emily is the subject of the 2002 Random House's Young Dreamers series, "I Am a Skater".
Very appropriately to the Simon and Garfunkel called "For Emily, Where--Whenever I May Find Her." “My parents named me after the song.”
Emily was the feel-good story of the Games, the alternate who had the chance to compete in her first major competition, and the Olympics at that. She had reportedly said that whatever happens here will only add to an already wonderful year.
Emily is a sweet, happy, active little girl who loves to snuggle.
Emily enjoys playing with her siblings.
As a Shepherd / Lab Mix, Emily will make a wonderful loyal, fun loving and intelligent companion for anyone.
Emily will only be adopted to a home where she will be a valued inside family member.
