My Story

9 Sept 2009 Update!!
Emily...aka "Emameees"...aka "little squeakers"
Emily has come through her knee surgeries like the trooper she is! Emily is a happy little gal who loves attention. Her favorite place is on a lap getting her ears rubbed, but she is also enthusiastic for a car trip to meet new people (and good in the car), and will appreciate a comfy dog bed when she is not getting attention. She is good with other dogs, big and small-but may get a bit lap jealous-, cats, which she ignores, and even small children. She does have a fascination with small animals, so houses with little critters should watch her with them.
Although hiking the Appalachian Trail may not be for her, she will not need any more surgery on her knees. With her knees fixed, she has no problem with stairs, the yard, playing with fuzzy squeaky toys, and will hop on the couch, but does still squeak to be lifted onto the bed.

She is a very outgoing and loving dog, that just needs to be spoiled with affection. She is looking for a forever home that will treat her like the little princess that she is!
24 April 2009 - Introducing Emily!

Welcome Emily!

Emily is a sweet lady of approximately 8 years of age. She is a laid back gal who enjoys warm blankets, sunshine basking, and just cuddling with her people!

She has no problems with a kennel, espescially piled with warm fuzzy blankets.

She is a dainty little lady, that gets along well with her foster siblings-canine and feline.

Unfortunatly, her back legs needs some TLC: she has grade 4 luxated patellas on both her back legs. She is scheduled for her first surgery to try to correct one, and will have her other once that has healed. Despite her knee problems, she is quite a little trooper! She can handle a couple of stairs on her own with no complaints, and will wait patiently with a happy wag of her tail for you to help her up a more challenging flight, or onto the bed.

She goes outside regularly, but does appreciate a pad in a convinient area for times in between, which she will use faithfully.

She does like chew treats and has shown some interest with fuzzy toys.

Once she recovers from her surgeries and we can assess what else she may need, she will be available for adoption.
