Make room on your couch, Emerson is coming over to stay! That's right, I am Emerson and I have my bag packed for your house. I'm a 3.5-year-old, 41-pound American Blue Heeler ball of energy! I was bred to be a working dog so I will need quite a bit of exercise, both mental and physical. I am a smart guy and my leash skills are awesome! I'm house and crate trained, too! Introductions to new people and other dogs will need to be slow. Due to my energy level and herding breed instincts, I don't think kids or cats would be a good fit for me. I am nervous around new people, so I would prefer a quiet environment, without a lot of new people or changes. We will likely need to meet several times in order to see if we are a good match.
Not to brag, but I have completed training courses and have learned many great skills. That's where you come in. Together, we'll need to continue to work on honing all my skills. I will need a very special hero who is willing to not only continue my training, but also knows specifically about my breed. That person needs to be a strong leader who is an expert at immediate correction. I know it's a lot to ask from an adopter, but I promise, I will be worth all the patience and love you throw my way! So, get my room ready! Just imagine all the great outdoor adventures we can share.
I'm a very special dog. Are you my very special human?
