My Story
Ellie Peach is the true package deal - she’s got both the good looks and an amazing personality! How can you not fall in love with her adorable face and huge elephant ears? If that’s not enough, she’s got a bouncy, playful personality to seal the deal. She is a happy girl who absolutely loves to play with other dogs. She’s estimated at about a year old and is the perfect size, weighing in at about 45lbs. She loves to play hard with other dogs, and is a pretty solid, strong girl, so she can be a bit much when playing with dogs smaller than her. That being said, her ideal home would definitely be one with another playful doggie companion that is her size or even a bit bigger. A fenced yard where she and her canine companion(s) can run, play, and wrestle would be an added bonus. She loves to get the zoomies and play chase with the other dogs, and boy is she fast!!
She loves her people, but is not so intensely clingy - it’s truly a perfect balance. Sometimes she will sit on the couch right next to you to get some extra love and snuggles, but she’s also content settling on the chair across the room by herself, or on the other couch with other dogs. She loves to run and play in the yard, and also LOVES to sunbathe outside on a dog bed either by herself or in the company of her foster dog siblings. She does very well in her crate, and has done amazing with house breaking (only having rare accidents that are mostly human failures of not getting her out). She loves to go for walks and already does pretty well on a leash. She loves toys and enjoys sharing them with humans and other dogs. She has not yet been formally cat tested, but has walked by cats out on walks and while she looks and her ears perk up, she hasn’t seemed overly reactive towards them. Cat testing can be arranged if that is needed!
Ellie was found by a previous FCAR adopter when she wandered into their yard on one of the crazy hot summer days with no collar, leash, microchip, or other identification. She was exhausted, run down, and infested with fleas and a secondary skin infection. She was fostered for the mandatory stray hold period, and no owner came looking for her. After the stray hold was up, we were excited to transfer her to FCAR. Like most of our rescue pups, we will never know Ellie’s past, but we can be absolutely certain her future will be great because a dog this fabulous will be snatched up by a wonderful family in no time!
Ellie has been given a clean bill of health from the vet and her spay is scheduled and paid for by FCAR, so she is available for adoption now! Head on over to ForeverChangedAR.org to apply to meet this girl now.
