My Story

Meet Ellie Mae! Hi there! My name is Ellie Mae, your 3 year old future couch-cuddling champion with a heart as big as my smile. Described by those who know me as sweet, playful, and utterly loveable, I have mastered the fine art of balancing my love for adventure with my equally passionate love for lazy afternoons lounging on the couch. While I might tug on the leash with excitement at the beginning of our walks, I just can't help but explore every scent and sight! My foster mom affectionately calls me a "loveable big baby," a title I wear with pride, especially when it comes to showing off how well I play with my toys or how gently I can take treats from your hand. Speaking of playtime, I do best with calm dogs and prefer a slow and proper introduction to make sure everyone feels comfortable. Or I would love to be the only dog in your life. Cats, however, seem to speak a language I just can't quite understand, so I'd do best in a home without feline siblings. But let me tell you, my absolute favorite beings are humans—big ones, little ones, and all sizes in between. Above all, I cherish the moments we spend together, whether we're on an adventure outside or snuggled up inside. Oh, and rest assured, my house manners are impeccable. My foster family has helped me master the art of being a well-behaved indoor companion, so you can trust me to respect our home as much as you do. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue! ----------------------PLEASE READ------------------------------- Our dogs are fostered in Texas but available for adoption in the Colorado... with pick up in Ft. Lupton CO. These dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. Our out of state adoption fee is $550 for adults and $650 for puppies. This fee includes: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm and flea preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, health certificate, and transport costs. As a Saving Hope direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.
