Ellie

ADOPTEDExcuse me while we gush about Ellie, the absolute sweetest dog that we have ever fostered. She is amazing, a real one-in-a-million kind of dog! Ellie has a fantastic and incredible calm, sweet, quiet, and gentle personality. She really enjoys the company of people and is very content to just be near you although she never turns down a chance to get up beside you to snuggle and cuddle. We have even nicknamed her “Ellie, Ellie Rub My Belly” since she quickly learned to “offer” her belly whenever anyone offers to give her a nice tummy rub. Ellie gets along great with other dogs even though it is obvious that she has had little opportunity to play with other dogs, or even toys, in her past. All Ellie desperately wants to do is to give someone all the unconditional love, devotion, and adoration that is in her very big heart.

Ellie is a petite (25lbs), but full-grown, one year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and she is current on shots and preventatives and is even spayed and microchipped. Ellie’s time was quickly running out at the shelter but we are puzzled because she is absolutely fantastic, well-behaved, and sweet although we suspect it is because she is one of those “plain” brown dogs. However, one look at Ellie shows you that she is far from plain! She has a beautiful and soulful hound dog face, floppy cute ears, soft snuggly body, and gorgeous expressive eyes that just light up whenever anyone gives her attention, which also makes her whole body wags with joy It was a breeze to crate and house train Ellie and she is beginning to learn her basic commands and to experience the joys of playing with other dogs and squeaky toys.
