Doberman lovers know red girls are special. Playful, affectionate, friendly, smart, discerning and VERY expressive are common descriptions. They are remarkable snuggle buddies. All of those and more apply to Ellie. She came to us just as she turned 2, was adopted into a loving experienced home, joining another young Doberman. Then, she had a seizure. The good news is that her epilepsy has been controlled. Any future seizures will be few and far between. The bad news is that other dogs are seemingly programmed to attack another experiencing a seizure. From our experience it appears innate. That happened when she had a seizure. The first Dobe, otherwise best buddies who played and napped together, became aggressive. Ellie could not stay in that home. The adopters were in tears. So, if you are open to a loving and snuggly and outstanding Red Girl to completely spoil and easily train, look at that face. Ellie gets along with dogs and people of all sizes. She is very social, has manners and walks well on a lead. The vet says she will live a normal and full life using a daily inexpensive medication. Ellie might occasionally - anywhere from months to a year or more apart - experience a “breakthrough” seizure. She should not be left alone with another dog because of that. Ellie is a princess-in-waiting.
