Meet little miss Ellie! Ellie is a very playful, sweet female chihuahua mix looking for a home! Ellie found her way to CRT when a vet asked CRT to help out with a chi puppy found as a stray. Ellie is creamy blonde with huge chihuahua ears and a frequently wagging tail. She weighs about 9 pounds. Her foster mama’s favorite feature of Ellie’s is her classic puppy eyes, which are sure to win over any heart! Ellie loves playing fetch, tug of war, learning puzzles, and doing tricks for treats. She loves going outside and can be a fairly active girl. She is pretty excitable, at which point she may bark and get the zoomies. Ellie loves life and doing any and all activities with her foster mom. At the end of the day, she is a snuggle bug, and she will be attached to her person’s hip. Consequently, she also has a bit of separation anxiety she'll likely need to work through. With Ellie, you have to make sure all the snacks are out of reach while you are away or she'll sneak in some extra meals! Miss Ellie is pretty smart and learns quickly. Right now, she’s learning not to play nibble on her foster mom's hand when she gets excited and wants to play. Ellie is fine with kids when supervised, but because she can get pretty excited, her barks and zoomies may overwhelm young kids (or adults or other dogs!). She is generally good with other dogs and tries to play with her foster Chihuahua sister. Ellie is still learning how to interact with other dogs and learning acceptable boundaries. Ellie needs someone who is willing to be patient and train her puppy ways, and of course play and cuddle! Ellie is spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW Negative, and on HW preventative. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so midwest dogs can only be adopted in OH, KY, MI, WI, and IL.
