*************************************************************************************** “Sweetheart and goofball wrapped up in one little package.” *************************************************************************************** ELLA CANELA is almost 3 years old, about 8 lbs, and is the sweetest lap dog! This girl was initially brought into the shelter suspected to have been thrown out of a moving car. She was adopted, left behind to neighbors, and then surrendered again by the neighbors once they learned how much she loves chasing chickens! All this since only April 2024, and who knows what her life was prior. Some might consider this a rough start in life, however, ELLA CANELA is no victim, and only seems to know serenity. ELLA CANELA is sweet, affectionate and quiet. She gets along with other dogs, and is also cat-friendly. This sweet, silly and gentle girl is very trusting, and when she is nervous or excited, she might gently mouth your hands or clothing. She doesn’t bite, and is not very intimidating. ELLA CANELA does well in a home. She is crate-trained, where she sleeps at night, and loves having her own bed! She also stays in the crate when left alone, and is perfectly fine with that arrangement. She is doing fairly well on her house-training, although she is still working on it. She currently requires frequent outings to do her business, and does well with her harness & leash. ELLA CANELA loves hard bones to chew on, and ironically turns her nose up to hard kibble. Adding broth to the kibble softens it up just enough to meet her standards, and she is grateful for the additional flavor as well. This angel is looking for furever arms to nestle into, and opportunities for you to laugh, (while she plays)! A home with or without other domestic pets works for her, and if there are children, we prefer they be at least 8 years of age, due to her size.
