My Story
Ella is a beautiful 3 year old bully mix who is described by all as an "old soul". Once Ella looks at you with those great big soulful eyes, she captures your heart! She smiles that beautiful smile and before you know it, you're holding a 65 pound "lap dog"! She wants nothing more than to snuggle in your lap and cuddle until she drifts off to sleep. Ella loves going on long hikes and playing outside! She is quiet and dignified. She loves to stretch out in a sunny spot in the garden and nap while her foster dad is working. Ella lives by the motto "play hard/sleep hard". She adores her younger foster sister and will romp & play with her until they are both exhausted! Her younger foster sister is only a puppy and weighs 1/3rd of what Ella weighs, but she is ever so careful as to not hurt her while playing. Ella does great with other dogs, kids and people, but she does not suffer fools. Ella is not a dog who will pick a fight or instagate a scruff, but if confronted by a bully, she usually won't back down. She does well at her foster home, which is filled with a rag-tag group of rescues of all shapes, ages & sizes. She is considered more of an "alpha". That's something to consider if another large adult dog is present. A slow introduction would be best. Ella is fully house & crate trained and can be trusted to be left alone in the home with no problems. She knows basic commands, does great on a leash and is eager to please. Ella has been let down by her hoomans in this life until she joined our rescue but she's super excited about finding her very own family so that she can be loved & find a secure place in a family of her very own. She loves her hoomans & simply wants to be loved in return.
Ella is HW negative, up-to-date on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped & otherwise healthy. Her adoption fee is $200. If you would give her 24 hours, you'd fall madly in love with this beautiful girl.
HISTORY: Ella was originally found dumped on the roadside, along with a large bag of dog food and a dog bed in the Louisiana heat. She was hot and exhausted, but refused to leave the area for shade because surely her hoomans would be back to get her soon! (If only we were the people our dogs think we are). Ella was so excited when our rescuer finally stopped to pick her up. She jumped into the car & immediately fell asleep in the air conditioned back seat. Ella has been let down by numerous hoomans, but she hasn't lost faith in us yet! She deserves the best!
You may apply to be Ella's furever family here: https://form.jotform.com/mustluvdogs/adoption-application
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED for Ella's new furever family we require the following:
*A calm home with a relatively active family who will give her the mental & physical stimulation she craves. Daily walks or playtime is her jam!
*Ella's ideal adopter is a strong leader & has experience with the bully breed & has lots of time & attention to spend with her.
* Experienced pet home with verifiable vet references/history preferred, but we realize that everyone has to start somewhere, so all applications will be considered.
*Verifiable good veterinary history INCLUDING regular vaccination/visits and Good Heartworm Prevention history is a MUST!
*Adopter must be able to have time to spend with the pup and be able to provide the pup a safe environment to live.
*ALL our dogs are expected to be primarily INSIDE dogs. They MUST sleep inside the home. We truly understand that some folks have working dogs (i.e. farmers, ranchers, etc); however, the majority of our dogs have had a rough life prior to coming to us & we want to make sure that they are showered with LUV & maybe even a bit spoiled for the rest of their lives.
Other facts are also considered, including whether children or other pets are a good fit with the dog.
Must Luv Dogs reserves the right to deny any applications that we don't think are a good fit with the pup. Our first & foremost concern is the dog's best interest. It is our MISSION to place them in a home that is a great fit for their needs for a lifetime of luv & being part of a family.
*We will consider adoptions in any area; however, will do not ship or transport a puppy under the age of 12 mos. We will ONLY transport an adult dog on a transport approved by MLD, at adopter's expense.
Please note that all of our pets are in private foster homes. In order to reduce any stress or confusion for our pups, we require a completed, approved application BEFORE setting up a meeting for any of fur-babies. Alternatively, you are always welcome to come meet any of our pups at one of our regular Adoption Events. They are always posted on PetFinder OR on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mustLUVdogs.org.
Finally, THANK YOU for considering Must Luv Dogs for your next pet.
