Hello world! My name is Elektra. I am a sweet, shy, black beauty lady with a heart full of love and a soul as tender as can be. My life's journey so far has been quite difficult, so I'm now on the hunt for a patient and loving family to help me uncover the joys of a new life. You see, I was a breeder dog for my entire life, giving birth to litter after litter, and then I was kept closed up in a bathroom by myself for a whole year. My life was lonely and scary, but now I am in a loving foster home learning all about being a beloved pet. I have made so much progress in my foster home, and I'm getting more confident every single day! I am house trained, and I do great in my crate. I get along with other dogs and cats, but I need a quieter home without a lot of activity. Any children will need to be calm and respectful of my need for space. My forever home must have a six-foot fenced yard. Another dog in my forever home would really help me continue to gain more confidence. Someone who is home more often than not would be best for me, as I really don't like to be alone for long. I am so sweet and gentle. I have never growled, snarled, or even shown my teeth. I am an incredibly gentle soul that needs a similarly gentle soul to show me how wonderful life can be.
