My Story

ADOPTED! - Einstein is one of the cutest Italian Greyhounds you’ll ever meet! We think he is about 8 or 9 years old and he was surrendered to a shelter (along with his friend "Booker") when his owner who was no longer able to care for him. Iggies thrive on lots of love and cuddling, so these two weren't doing well in a shelter environment because they missed the affection only a caring owner can provide. Because of their plight, our rescue group took them in until we can find each of them his forever home. Einstein weighs just 9 lbs. and--while he gets along great with cats and other small dogs--because his little legs are so fragile, he probably shouldn't live in a home with larger dogs or with smaller children, since he might be inadvertently injured. However, Einstein is good with older children. He is housebroken, he walks quite proudly on a leash, and he loves to snuggle! (He especially likes to burrow under the covers at night!) Einstein is very affectionate, even with strangers, and he especially enjoys lying in the warm sun. (Italian Greyhounds are easily chilled so they seek out warm places.) Italian Greyhounds are fun, loving little couch potatoes who don't need a lot of exercise, but they do need a safely fenced yard (please, no invisible fencing). Einstein appears to be in good health but--because he has lost most of his teeth over the years (he only has two teeth left)--he must be fed soft food. (One thing though.... Einstein doesn't like to share his food, so he needs to be fed separately from any other animals.) We originally thought Einstein and Booker were so attached to each other that they needed to stay together, but we have discovered that they don't really see eye to eye on things, even though they were raised together. So, we think it's best to adopt them to separate homes. If you have room in your home and your heart for this cute little guy, please e-mail us with a little information about yourself, your family situation, if you have other pets and/or a safely fenced yard, etc. (Our e-mail address is: [email protected]) Then, if we feel this cutie would be a good fit for you--and if we all agree you would be able to provide Einstein with the loving care he deserves--we will e-mail you an adoption application.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
