My Story

FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60625 ESTIMATED DOB: 2014 WEIGHT: 12lbs KIDS: Likely DOGS: Yes CATS: Possibly HISTORY: Egon was a stray who was brought to a suburban animal control facility. ABOUT: Egon is a gentle, sweet, spry, happy boy who has bunny-soft fur. Egon had horribly painful teeth when he arrived, but he was still such a sweet boy. He has blossomed into a great little amazing little dog. Egon is just such a happy guy. He is thrilled to see you even if you’ve left the room for just a few minutes, but he is not needy or demanding of attention. He loves to be around you and will jump right up next to you when you sit down, but he never bothers you when you are busy. He just waits around until the time is convenient for you and soaks it all up. He does love to snuggle up right next to you in bed, and he NEVER forgets to shower you with bedtime kisses. Egon is not crated when his foster parents are at work and is very trustworthy. Every once in a while he struggles to hold it for a full work day, but he will use a pee pad if you put it by the door. Egon is a senior, but he is very spry and active without being hyper or energetic. He’s happy to follow you around the house and he loves to explore outside, but is the first one to hit the dog beds for a nap if you are busy. He’s good on leash and loves to go for walks, and then promptly settles in for a nap as soon as you get home. Egon is not being fostered with children or cats. He did meet a cat at the vet and was curious, but not overly interested. He backed off when the cat tried to show him who was boss. Egon has been friendly with every single person he has met, so he would likely be fine in homes with children who are old enough to understand the needs of a senior dog. Egon is being fostered with 3 other dogs, and he has been great with all of them - including being very welcoming to the foster who arrived after him. Egon does take a joint supplement and pain medication for arthritis twice a day. He was active without the medication, but his fosters have noticed a bit more pep in his step since starting it. Egon’s foster also soaks his food to make it a little easier for him to eat considering that he only has 5 teeth left. Egon is going to bring joy to whomever adopts him.
