Edler

Much like his namesake of the Vancouver Canucks, this Edler is also a star! We anticipate that little Edler-the-Maltese-mix will also be a popular "player" :)

Edler is friendly and outgoing, and truly enjoys the company of us humans. He gets very excited when he even just sees a leash, knowing that he’s in for an adventure of some kind. Edler is easy to walk and is quickly becoming a favourite, especially with our novice volunteer walkers.

Although he is neutered, Edler nonetheless is still a "scent marker," staking a claim on his territory (trees, grass, furniture, etc.) by lifting his leg to mark it as his own. His new family should be prepared to work with him on redirecting and eliminating this behaviour.

The Maltese breed is often considered good for allergy sufferers. Edler is a mixed breed Maltese, so if you are seeking a "hypoallergenic" dog, please spend some time with him to see whether or not your allergy acts up.

Edler’s adoptive family will need to take him for regular professional grooming, as small breeds like his can quickly become grubby and matted.

This charming little guy’s ideal new home will either be adult-only, or one with older children (8+ years old), only because he’s a senior and so small.
