Edith

Edith is an elegant, loving, tall old English sheepdog/possibly English setter and great Dane mixed-breed who weighs about 69 pounds. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on shots and quite healthy. (Dame) Edith loves children (probably best with older children as she does some herding and she is very tall and able to knock over a smaller child) and adults of all sizes and descriptions. She is housebroken but not crate-trained. (Her foster mom did not have a crate tall enough for her to be comfortable in so she has been left loose at night and when the family is away and she has been no trouble.) Edith rides nicely in the car and will walk nicely on leash with a choke collar. She loves being outside and goes crazy when she sees birds flying overhead. She barks and tries to chase them! Edith is very clever about getting out doors and gates, though, and needs a very secure gate lock or locks and a storm/screen door outside her house. Estimated to be about 3 years old, Edith is an ideal family pet and companion. To visit with Edith, please join us at our off-site adoptions at PetCo, 2721 S. Veterans Parkway, Springfield, Ill., on the first and fourth Sundays of each month or the second and third Sundays at Springfield’s PetsMart on Veterans Parkway.
