My Story

Gorgeous Eddie is looking for a special forever home!!!

Eddie came to us as biter. He did nip at everyone in the house for the first couple of days. It is best to approach him carefully with your hands, he does need time to gain your trust. Eddie gets himself into a very excited, yet focused state, it’s difficult for him to get out of it. If anyone is in his path, he nips. I have been using behaviour modification tips from a behaviourist, as well as a citronella collar. It does seem to be helping.

He needs routine and a calm, consistent home without lots of noise and busyiness. He’s been thriving with me and in the right home he’ll make an awesome pet. Once he adjusts, to his new surroundings, he is great. He follows me everywhere in the house. He’s really snuggly and sweet and loves to go for walks. Eddie would be great in agility or fly-ball since he loves to jump and he runs like crazy. He knows his basic commands and loves to play with you. Additional dog training classes would be helpful with his socialization and his focus. I have crate trained him since he was jumping all over the furniture (tables, dressers, etc.) He wasn’t crazy about the crate, but with treats, Eddie is happy to please.

He won’t stay behind a baby gate; he’ll either knock it down, climb it, or chew it. During the day, he’s crated but is loose whenever I’m home. He sleeps on a pillow in office.

Eddie is not an apartment dog, he requires a yard in which to run.

  • I am - A male Field Spaniel (Liver/Red)

  • Age - 2

  • Weight - 25lbs

  • Sheds? Moderately

  • Exercise Needs - Lots, would be great in fly-ball or agility

  • Barking - At the door or at strangers

  • Housetrained? Yes

  • Good with

    • Dogs? He’s fine with both of his foster siblings—goldie (1 1/2 yrs.) (M) and mini poodle, 9 yrs. (F); Eddie needs his space; when the goldie gets rambunctious, Eddie gets a little scared. He’ll run with the dogs, but doesn’t like the rough play and prefers dogs his own size. At leash-free he was overwhelmed, by the big guys and keeps his distance. He’ll sniff them, but won’t play much.

    • Cats? Foster home has an old cat (18 yrs.) whom Eddie sniffs, but ignores.

    • Kids? Not under 16yrs old
