DUSTIN IS IN URGENT STATUS AND MUST FIND HIS FOREVER HOME BY OCTOBER 30TH OR HE COULD FACE EUTHANIZATION. DUSTIN WAS RECENTLY PICKED UP AS A STRAY IN JONES COUNTY. JONES COUNTY DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. ALL DOGS ARE HELD FOR 7 DAYS. AFTER HIS HOLD TIME, DUSTIN MUST HAVE A FOREVER HOME, RESCUE OR FOSTER HOME TO GO TO. ALL OF AWF'S FOSTER HOMES ARE FULL!!
This is Dustin. Dustin was recently found by some men who were out hunting. We can only imagine how terrified and alone Dustin felt! We are so extremely thankful that Dustin wasn't shot and that he was brought to one of our vet clinics!! We will now do all we can to ensure Dustin finds a nice, safe and loving home that he can spend forever with!!
Dustin is approx. 2-4 years old and weighs approx. 8-10 lbs. Dustin is a very sweet and very friendly little guy and was so very happy to see our volunteer and her children come to hang out with him this weekend. Dustin is being a very good boy in his kennel and he also did very nice on the leash when taken out. Dustin is looking for a family to shower him with love and affection, that will provide him with a safe and warm place to sleep with his family every night and most importantly, will keep him safe for all his days so he never finds himself alone and scared again!!

The first step to AWF's adoption process is to fill out an Adoption Application.
To download our adoption application, please
click here. Completed applications can be sent as an attachment to
[email protected] or faxed to 319-393-0056.
The adoption fee is on a sliding scale; $90 to $150. You decide the amount that is right for you to give. We have an all volunteer staff so your entire fee goes towards saving AWF's rescue animals. If your donation covers Dustin's medical costs, then the remainder of your donation will go towards helping save another homeless pet!
All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, tested for heartworm to ensure they are negative and are on flea and heartworm preventative.
No adoptions outside of an approx. 50-mile radius of Jones County/Cedar Rapids/Iowa City/Waterloo. In some instances, we are able to make an adoption outside of the radius work (but this varies on a case by case basis and may depend on where you live). The limited radius is due to a mandatory home visit needing to be done at the adoptive home by a rescue volunteer.
Breed Disclosure: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we can not guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.
