Dustin is a happy, friendly and all puppy one year old boy whose life has definitely taken a turn for the better! Dustin is named after a Good Samaritan who saw this pup being beaten and then thrown out the window of a car. He rushed to his aid and got this helpless youngster to rescue where he would be safe and cared for.
We think Dustin has a particularly marvelous temperament because he’s a “Glab” – part Lab and part Golden Retriever. He’s a medium size pup at about 55-60 pounds. Dustin’s foster family has him off to a terrific start. He’s housetrained, knows, sit, down, wait, take/give, come, outside (for potty), crate and “people are eating” (no begging). Greeting and leash manners still need some work, but are coming along as is the stay command. Being a typical youngster, Dustin can have ideas of his own sometimes, but with kind, consistent leadership he’ll decide you’re probably right after all!
Dustin loves and craves human affection. Playing with other dogs ‘til he drops is a favorite pastime. He loves chasing balls and playing with toys. Like all retriever puppies he’s into chewing so a supply of bones and approved chewables is a must!
An active family who can give Dustin lots of daily exercise and is committed to continuing his training – he’s off to such a great start – will be best for this handsome, endearing young fellow. Another dog to romp and pal around with would be icing on the cake.
Dustin hopes his short, but eventful journey through life will have the happiest turn of all when he finds his loving forever home with you.
