Duke is purebred tricolor male Beagle estimated at 6 mths of age (7/8/09). Duke and his sister Duchess were found July 4th in the Fallsburg area in a crate that had been wired shut and laying in the ditch. Luckily, someone found them and brought them to the shelter for their safety. Duke is cute as a button as Beagles can be. Both Duchess and Duke are timid which is not an uncommon trait in Beagles. It would be great if they could remain together as they actually sleep on top of each other and can't stand to be apart. Duke has a mostly black back and unless you look at the black markings on their backs, it is hard to tell them apart at first glance. Duke has more of a solid black back while Duchess has broken black spots on her back. Duke would be an excellent house companion and will be one of the smaller Beagles. He will be neutered prior to leaving the shelter.
