My Story

Dottie is a beautiful pure bred Black and Tan Rottweiler female who is small for breed who is about 18 months old.
Dottie was rescued from a high kill shelter. Dottie was picked up as a stray and the someone thought they wanted to adopt her from the shelter then changed their mind.
When she was rescued Dottie had pneumonia and came to her foster mom to be treated. Dotti recovered with lots of rest, good food, fresh air, short periods of exercise and of course her antibiotics.

As Dotti recovered from her pneumonia and was more actively playing a slight limp was noticed in her Left Front leg.
Dotti had been scheduled to be spayed so her leg was checked when she went for her appointment.
"Doc" said that Dotti was likely born in a "Puppy Mill". Dottie has a "Click" in her Left elbow joint. Dottie will continue to have at least a slight limp on her Left front leg. Dottie will need to be on either "Dog Buffered Aspirin" or 1/4th of a Deramaxx daily for comfort.

Dottie had also been neglected by her former owner. Dottie must not have been given heartworm prevention because Dottie was also "slightly" positive on her heartworm test. It was decided to use a conservative treatment for Dottie because of this slight positive. Dottie was put on regular monthly doses of Heartgard.

All the above having been said, Dottie is a very happy, loving, energetic yet gentle girl who deserves to be part of a family of her own.

Dottie loves to play ball though her favorite game is "bite the water in the play pool" as seen in her pictures.
Dottie is house trained, crate trained, walks well on lead, and loves to ride in the car. She enjoys playing with other medium and large dogs. Dottie would be a good companion for another large dog.
Dottie does not do well with cats.
Dottie is equally comfortable with men and women and older children.
Dottie is too energetic to be in a home with small children.

Anyone applying to adopt Dottie must be committed to giving Dottie the medication she needs for comfort in her elbow and to strictly maintaining her heartworm prevention which for Dottie will be her heartworm treatment.
Dottie will be a loving addition to a family who loves the Rottweiler breed.
