Dottie

Dottie is a sweet 38-pound spayed female at just over two years old. Although her shelter paperwork labels her as a pittie mix, we believe she's a delightful blend of Australian Cattle Dog and German Shorthaired Pointer. Dottie's journey hasn't been easy—she was abandoned at the Fort Worth shelter in Texas and placed on the euthanasia list due to a severe doggie cold. Thankfully, she was rescued just in time, treated, and has made a full recovery! Now, Dottie is thriving and eager to find her forever home. She’s up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and in perfect health. Dottie is both crate and house trained. She'll let you know when she needs to go outside or if you’re late with her dinner—her enthusiastic barks are her way of communicating! Dottie is an active and adventurous girl who loves car rides and exploring new places with her humans. She’s friendly with other dogs but would need a home without cats as she tends to chase them. Her ideal family would be active, with a fenced yard where she can play and burn off energy. Apartments wouldn’t suit her well, and if there are children, they should be older (12 & up) since Dottie can get a bit too excited and might accidentally knock over smaller kids. Dottie knows her basic commands and responds well to a harness during walks or short hikes. She's a compact, sturdy pup with stunning coat markings and soulful eyes. She enjoys cooling off in the pool on hot days and is highly food-motivated, though she’s not food-aggressive. Her favorite things include butt rubs and car rides, making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving, and fun friend.
