My Story

Meet Dottie! ? She is an approx 1.5yo Pit mix. Dottie came to us Heartworm-positive, but has undergone treatment for it. Dottie's foster mom has this to say: "Dottie is extremely loving. She loves a good snuggle session and hanging out on the couch. She is crate trained, house broken and getting better on the leash. She needs strong caretakers as she still can pull on the leash at times. Dottie would be best with a fenced in yard, lots of structure and activity! She is great with our neighborhood cat on her evening walks." Dottie is OK with most dogs when she is out & about, and she previously lived with a submissive 9 month old male, but we have not been successful in placing Dottie with another dog in a foster home and feel a dog-free home would be best. Or perhaps a home with a young submissive male. Even though Dottie would do best in a dog-free home initially, we do feel there would be the potential for an adopter to add a puppy to their family down the road, so Dottie wouldn't necessarily have to remain an only-dog.
