My Story

Please contact Kady Hammer ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.Hello Dolly! DOLLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Dolly and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Aug. 4th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Come meet Dolly and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (Aug. 3rd) at the Fairfax Petco! Name: Dolly Best Guess for Breed: Hound and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 5.5 months as of 7/20/24 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 26 lbs as of 7/13/24 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Dolly is Looking For: Her forever home! Dolly is out of the tiny squish puppy stage but she's still a baby and looking for all the things puppies love - play time and snuggles and more play time! Shelter staff said that from the time she arrived, she was confident, social, and adventurous. She enjoys playing in the pool. She plays well with other dogs. She's got all that awesome puppy energy and is treat motivated, so training her is a lot of fun. Making pup and people pals is high on her wish list but right at the top is having her own humans and knowing she's safe and loved for all her days. She will be a great addition to an active household, right there for all the adventures her humans dream up. What do you say? Is Dolly the one you see trotting by your side as you take on one of the many great hiking trails in this area? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once Dolly has spent more time with her foster Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
