ADOPTED!
Dolly came to us from a shelter in Missouri. Their animal control officer had discovered her--in mid-December--curled up in the crawl space of an abandoned rental property. Alone and afraid--and without access to food or water--Dolly was desperately trying to keep her newborn baby warm. When we learned about her, we brought her to our foster home and since then Dolly and the baby have both thrived. She has been a great mother, but now the baby is weaned, he is on his own, and Dolly has become a liberated woman! She is an extremely exceptional dog--highly intelligent and attentive, energetic, loving, and gentle. Dolly is a young adult (possibly between 1 and 2 years old), she weighs about 36 lbs., and she is approximately "knee high". We would like Dolly to go to a home in which she wouldn't have to be a latchkey dog, so an adopter who works out of his/her home, works part time, or is retired would be perfect for her. She would also love a fenced yard to play in (no invisible fencing please). Dolly has been spayed, microchipped, immunized, wormed, and heartworm tested. If you are interested in Dolly, please e-mail us at:
[email protected] with a short "cover letter" describing your situation and your lifestyle so that we can determine if Dolly would be a good fit for you--and you, for her. If we determine that you could provide the type of home Dolly needs and deserves, we will then send you an adoption application.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
