My Story

My name is Dodger and I am one lovable, energetic, boy. Well, I used to be boy until this new lady emasculated me and took away my urges to jump everything! I am around a year old. I was roaming the streets in rural SC and a nice lady brought me to her rescue. Then I was on my way to this new place in Asheville, NC. Boy is this lady nuts! She had a whole dog kennel inside her house! I had big friends, medium friends and little friends to show off for. I love them all! She has this really big backyard that has a fence around it so I can run and run and run and run and…you get the idea. I love to be outside, RUNNING!!! I am always looking up in the trees for squirrels or birds. Not the best time of year for them though. When my foster mom makes me come in (she sometimes has to chase me and carry me) I love to curl up on her lap or right next to her and get some pets. I try and be a gentleman and ask permission first before jumping up. I also love sleeping in the biggest dog bed EVER!! She is so generous with her space because she’s is literally almost falling off the side! ? My foster mom says I’m a good boy when she puts me in my crate. I don’t like it but I tolerate it. But watch out when you open that door! I am the dog version of speedy Gonzales to get outside! Potty training has been challenging. It’s better now that I don’t have my man parts, but mom says she thinks I was probably in a crate or outside all the time. I have gotten about 95% better but I piddle a little if she doesn’t notice me by the door. I guess I should learn to bark to grab her attention. Mom has tried me on a leash and harness but I wasn’t too sure about it. I’ll need more training because I want to hike and RUN! I like other dogs but not sure about cats. As much as I’d love to have chickens around, they probably wouldn’t fare well with me. So a home without those egg layers is best. I also prefer older, considerate children. Mostly because I don’t have manners and I’m still learning to keep all 4 paws on the ground. If you are interested in giving me a home, please fill out the application. Foster mom will cry ugly tears, but she knows it’s best for me. My adoption fee is $300 Vet reference and home visit required, to apply to meet Dodger. www.muttsnmore.org
