Her previous owner had to go into a nursing home, so we don't have a lot of information on her. She was more than likely an outside dog, as she was tied up on the property when family came to get her. She is super friendly and loves attention. She is an older dog, probably 8-9 years old. Since being at the prison in the Puppies on Parole Program for training, it's been noticed that she had some incontinence issues. But she is on a medication that has eliminated that problem. She would thrive in a home where she has a lot of attention and love, maybe being the only dog or with another low-key buddy. She goes out in a play group with other dogs and does fine; she just doesn't show a lot of interest in interacting. And, like most older dogs, she doesn't want to have her space invaded by high energy dogs. Dixie is great on a leash, knows commands, and keeps her kennel clean.
