Dixie

Dixie is a five month old Great Dane. She is about 45 pounds and we're expecting her to be about 100 pounds as an adult. She loves other dogs and is extremely affectionate. She is coming in from another state where she had sat for several weeks without any interested people looking at her. We thought that was a real shame as she is a very sweet puppy, so she's on her way to Denver to see if someone in Colorado will give her a chance. Dixie will be in Denver the weekend of October 4th, so we're looking for someone who would be willing to help this sweet girl from the get-go. She will be spayed, micro-chipped, brought up-to-date on vaccinations as well as getting her stomach tacked (this prevents bloat and stomach twisting - a life-threatening problem in large dogs). She deserves this second-chance, and we think if given the opportunity will repay that investment with a life-time of love.
The dogs in our program come with an additional four weeks of integration training after adoption. Integration training is one-on-one training with you, your new pet and a trainer. At NSC, we believe the key to successful placement is proper training. This way the dog knows what is expected of him, and you know how to communicate effectively with your dog.
