My Story

Diva was cared for by a lovely foster family and the staff and volunteers who she met at the Shelter where she was taken in after her sad life of a breeding dog ended.
Sadly Diva never made it to a forever home. She passed away from Kidney failure that came on quickly and took her before she had the chance to become an adored adopted Pei.
Rest in Peace Diva, your foster family and all who met you, and many who did not get the chance to, cared very much for you. We are all so sad that you did not have the life you deserved.
Upon arrival:
This pretty girl is Diva. Diva is in a loving foster home with two older male Shar-pei. Diva is a little bit nervous of the man in the home, but has learned to trust people and has met many new dogs at family get-togethers.
Diva was taken by the SPCA from a backyard breeder who was neglecting Diva and her four other pen mates.
Please do not support backyard breeders, however "nice" they may seem. If a Shar-pei breeder is not registering their dogs with the CKC and does not microchip or tattoo their dogs, they are a backyard breeder. Responsible breeders are registering and permanently Id'ing their dogs. The also follow the bloodlines of their dogs to prevent the genetic diseases.
The backyard breeder who had Diva was so bad that Diva and her siblings were actually happier once they were taken to the SPCA shelter.
